Holt Street NEXT is a private, invite-only gathering of founders, thinkers, operators and builders performing on the edge of emergence and influence. It’s a private gathering for those redefining what leadership looks like across sectors, from tech and science to policy, culture, art, and beyond—not because of titles or headlines, but because of how they think, build, and lead.

We bring together ambitious, curious, high-integrity individuals across sectors, people who are already shaping what’s NEXT, even if they haven’t fully arrived. Our gatherings are designed not for performance, but for presence: off-the-record, high-trust, intellectually curious, and emotionally real.
Built for radical candor, cross-vertical trust, and intellectual friction, NEXT creates space for the kinds of exchanges that seldom happen elsewhere: honest, unguarded, and generative. It is a forum for those still evolving and bold enough to share the work-in-progress, knowing that true progress is forged in open dialogue and authentic exchange.
NEXT is not a conference.
There are no panels, monologues, microphones, or stages. NEXT is intentionally built around shared meals, hyper-curated conversations, small-group breakouts, and immersive visits that explore the history, landscape, and layered backdrop of Montgomery, Alabama.
LOCATION
NEXT takes place at the historic 1 Dexter Avenue in Montgomery – a building with a layered legacy. Built in the 1840s it has stood witness to moments that have reshaped leadership, conversation, and the course of history: central to the transatlantic slave trade, home to the first bank of the Confederacy, and steps from where Rosa Parks was arrested. It’s a place where dialogue has always mattered, and stands as a symbol for how to reimagine what is possible.

Each participant joins a brief call with NEXT producers to share what you’re thinking about, what matters most right now, and how you hope to engage. Your input directly shapes the agenda, from session design to shared meals and peer connections, ensuring the experience is built around what’s most relevant to you.
Full Access to Peer-Led Discussion Breakouts
Each session is thoughtfully designed as a facilitated, off-the-record dialogue in intimate breakout groups of 10–12 participants. These dynamic small-group conversations create space to explore emerging ideas, challenge assumptions, and build trust. Participants engage directly with one another in roundtable-style discussions shaped by the shared interests, lived experiences, and backgrounds of those in the room.
Exclusive Curated Programming
Enjoy tailored experiences beyond discussions, including evening receptions, seated lunches, and dinners. These programs are designed to foster meaningful connections in an informal setting.
All Meals During the Gathering
Enjoy daily breakfasts, carefully designed lunches and select evening receptions and dinners. Coffee breaks, the Holt Street snack bar, and off-site dinner parties are also included.
Off-Site Activities & Local Tours
Step beyond the walls of the gathering and into Montgomery’s rich, complex history. Through guided site visits and immersive local experiences, participants engage with the stories, legacies, and landscapes that continue to shape the American narrative. These moments are designed to deepen context, stir reflection, and connect our conversations to something larger than ourselves.

Includes transportation to/from off-site events and NEXT program tours.

NEXT gatherings are invite-only, small, and intimate by design. As our available spaces are extremely limited, ticket purchase refunds follow a strict schedule:
Within two weeks of registering: Full refund
Cancel by August 15, 2025: 75% refund
Cancel by September 6, 2025: 50% refund
Cancel by October 6, 2025: 25% refund
Cancel after October 6, 2025: No refund

Sessions embrace diverse viewpoints and are peer-led by fellow participants.
Seated Meal Discussions: Lunches and dinners are thoughtfully structured to optimize meaningful interactions among participants in a less formal setting. Each meal is assigned seating and allows us to curate different seating arrangements each meal – it also ensures that you meet and connect with 100% of the participants.
